Garimot System
Email
Website

Garimot Arnis-Buno-Hilot System     Garimot System is from Paete, Laguna Province in the Philippines. It is a multi-system, which includes various sub-systems that the founder learned from his father Grandmaster Peping "Garimot" Baet, and numerous Grandmaster of Arnis, Eskrima, Hilot, and Buno (Maestro Pining Absin, Maestro Tomas Cagayat, Indo Afunggol, Ente Afunggol, Victor "Afu" David, Juan Ladiana, Totoy Acuno, Andoy Cacaos and Myrna Cadang from Laguna, Philippines).
The Garimot System focuses on (Largo Mano) Long Range Fighting and (Corto Mano) close combat confrontation with and not limited to empty hand combat including "Harimaw Buno" Filipino native wrestling from the native Mangyan Tribes of Mindoro Island, in the Philippines.
The art has been proven in combat and in un-padded stick fighting competition up to the third generation Grandmaster of the system Gat Puno Abon “Garimot” Baet (1978-1985 undefeated stick fighter of Laguna Philippines)

"To be a truly complete and effective fighting defense, a style must have an arsenal of competent techniques and theory to pull from to use in any situation without borrowing from another style."

Inayan Systems International     In Inayan Eskrima we study several styles of Eskrima but focus on three “core styles” which are Inayan Kadena de Mano, Inayan Serrada, and Inayan Largo Mano. Each is taught in its whole form as a complete style and covers a specific range: short (Kadena), medium (Serrada) and long (Largo). Having these three styles that cover these three separate ranges is the key to balancing out Inayan Eskrima. All three (short, medium and long) are essential. When the Inayan student reaches the proper level he or she can then understand how each piece fits the greater puzzle and put them together as it fits their particular way of fighting.

Latosa Escrima
Grandmaster Rene Latosa

Latosa Escrima / Concepts is a very dynamic and logical system. The system keeps developing and progressing into the future. System must progress as students develop their technical competence.
In Latosa's early stages of developing Filipino martial art concepts, the movements or techniques were considered key, and the idea of using concepts was secondary. This proved effective and contributed to the fighting reputation of many of Rene's students. However effective, the system did not seem complete. There was a missing element that distinguishes the Filipino art from the other martial arts. It was not the techniques that set the Filipino arts apart, since most systems utilize techniques. It was not the ability to change from empty hand to sticks. What exactly was it? This search for the answer became the driving force in Latosa's quest to develop the Filipino martial art further. The answer was within the fighting concepts, and how they played a role in the effectiveness of the Filipino martial arts. As the concepts of power hitting, blocking hard, balance, and attitude, became more dominant, the Latosa system developed a new focus. Rene restructured his technique drills to impart the importance of concepts. Latosa utilized these concepts while boxing for the Air Force without having any traditional boxing training experience.

Hence, the knowledge of martial arts is significantly relevant to the human being in his daily activities not as a means of toppling the other fellow but to be a best of everybody. However, such knowledge is not just to be taken as a weapon of winning a battle but earning and enjoying peace.

  • Jendo is a fast-rising Filipino non-classical style of self-defense originated in Mandaluyong City, that has been existing in the Philippines for more than three decades. I is a modern day Filipino martial arts partly based on the ancient oriental system of discipline, founded in 1973 by a Filipino named grandmaster Jonathan Makiling, who among his friends, followers and collegques in martial arts known as Jonathan Abaya or June Abaya.
  • Jendo is one of the very few authentic Filipino martial arts, passed the screening of the Philippine Sports Commission and of the different major national organizations of martial arts from various Filipino and foreign style protected by the Philippine Government Law, recognized and approved under Securities and Exchange Commision Regulation No. ANO96-00588
  • Jendo specializes in the use of both the empty hands and the Filipino Weaponries such as stick, itak, knife (Punyal/daga) and Bangkaw as a means of self-defense and Sports.
  • Jendo means "The Economical New Fist Way". The first generation student of Grandmaster Abaya define the last syllable of Jendo, the Do as one word meaning way (Chinese Translation). In Grandmaster Abaya's Weapon's Fighting System, he defines Jendo as June Abaya's Espeda y Navaja Depenssa Orihinal - June Abaya's Original Stick and Knife Fighting System. The word espada, refers to the word stick, sword or escrima and the word navaja refers to the word daga, punyal or knife.
  • According to his teachings, Jendo was founded on a systematic principles of body movements that developes its practitioners into a healthy, alert and mentally well coordinated person. It is an art and science dealing with the study of human existence (see Tres-energias), behavior and its relationshp with all the things that surrounds him. It is the path in which something is and should be acchieved.
  • Jendo is an art of acquiring both physical and spirtual freedom; it is direct and natural. It is not fixed, it is alive, ever changing and always searching for new ways; it has a room for improvements just like the world or the universe we are living in, never constant, ever vibrant.

Guro Fred Evrard, Founder of the Ni Tien Martial Arts Schools (FMA) calls the Kali system taught in his Ni Tien schools : Kali Majapahit.
It is a synthesis of several Filipino Martial Arts, and some other fighting arts from the ancient Majapahit area in Southeast Asia.

The Martial Arts styles that have influenced the Kali Majapahit curriculum are:
      - Kali Sikaran (Punong Guro Jeff Espinous)
      - Inayan Eskrima (Suro Mike Inay)
      - Panantukan (Lucaylucay style)
      - Kali / JKD (Inosanto Kali)
      - Muay Thai
      - Seni Silat Titipinang
      - Pencak Silat Tapac Suci
      - Silat Kuntao
      - Hakka Kuntao

Guro Evrard doesn't look at his Kali Majapahit as another style of Kali, but rather as a system; a way of organizing and teaching the Filipino Martial Arts.
As for most Filipino Martial Arts, the training concepts of Kali Majapahit are multiple but simple. They are based on several sub-systems:
      - Sinawali (Double stick)
      - Solo baston (Single stick)
      - Daga (Knife defense)
      - Kadena de Mano (closed range empty hand)
      - Panantukan (Filipino boxing)
      - Sikaran (Filipino kickboxing)
      - Dumog (Filipino wrestling)
      - Largo Mano (long range or long sword)
      - Espada y Daga (sword and knife)
      - Sibat / Bangkow (spear or long staff)
      - Trangkada (joint locks and pressure points)
      - Silat Kuntao & Seni Sarong (influenced by the Indonesian Pencak Silat)

In Kali Majapahit, these concepts are woven together into a complete and very effective system. Any improvement in one aspect of the Art will accelerate progression in the others.

Yashai Warcraft

The foundation of Yashai Warcraft is based upon a 6-banded spectrum of successful warrior traditions. These 6 traditions (in no specific order) are:

  1. The Filipino Warrior Arts -- emphasis is on the fighting methods of the Southern Philippines (Moro systems) and on those styles developed by Battlecircle ('pit') champions. We call this blend Patayin Estilo , the 'Death Match' system of sword and battlestick fighting.
  2. The Jun Fan Fighting Method / jeet kune do concepts -- the system of combat developed by Bruce Lee (Lee Jun Fan).
  3. Nagondzog -- the traditional Apache methods of hunting, survival, and guerrilla warfare.
  4. Silat / Pentjak Silat -- the warrior styles of the Tausugs (Sulu), Minangkabau (Sumatra), the Wali Suci (Java), the Bugis (Sulewesi), and the Melayu (Malaysia). We call this blend Silat Sabungin , the 'cockfighting' system of Filipino and Indonesian short-knife fighting.
  5. Hrafns Vegr -- "The Raven's Way": the fighting methods of the Dark Ages Vikings. Emphasis is on the styles of the Einherjar and the Ulfhednar. The dedication to the old Arts of War is still maintained at a few remote Scandian villages in the barrens and deep forests of the far Northlands.
